Vaarta compared with Kompyte
Looking for a Kompyte alternative?
Kompyte is Semrush’s competitive intelligence module, and it makes most sense as part of that ecosystem. Vaarta is a standalone product for teams whose question is what their named rivals did this week, and what to do about it.

What Kompyte is built for
Marketing-led teams already invested in Semrush, who want competitive tracking alongside their SEO and web analytics data.
Kompyte was acquired by Semrush in 2022 and is positioned as its dedicated competitive intelligence module, with automated tracking, change detection and AI generated battlecards.
What Vaarta is built for
Teams where nobody owns competitive intelligence as a job, and the work still has to happen. Vaarta collects across eight sources, verifies each signal before anyone sees it, and delivers what survives to Slack and email.
Every synthesised claim carries the signals it was drawn from. Here is how that works.
What Kompyte costs
Semrush does not publish Kompyte pricing. There is no public rate card and every deal is quoted, though it is generally regarded as the more budget-friendly of the established platforms. Third-party figures circulating online conflict with each other, so we are not quoting one.
The ecosystem is the point, and also the constraint
Kompyte is strongest when you are already a Semrush customer, because the competitive data sits next to the traffic and keyword data you were buying anyway. If you are not, you are evaluating it on its own merits against tools that do nothing else. The question worth asking is whether competitive intelligence is a module alongside your SEO stack, or the thing you need to be right about on its own.
Side by side
| Dimension | Vaarta | Kompyte | Edge |
|---|---|---|---|
| Claim grounding | Every synthesised implication cites the signal ids it came from, or it is not published. | AI generated analysis and battlecards. No published citation guarantee. | Vaarta |

| Change detection | Daily collection across eight sources, then a verification gate that classifies into a fixed taxonomy and drops what fails. | Daily automated visits with AI classification of detected changes. | Even |
| Permanent history | Everything detected stays in the archive. Plan tier sets read depth; nothing is deleted. | Change history retained in the platform. | Even |
| Pricing transparency | Free tier is public. Paid tiers are quoted, and you get a number on the first call. | No published rate card. Pricing is quoted, and public third-party figures conflict. | Even |
| Developer access | REST API and a hosted MCP server on every paid tier. Signed webhooks with retry. | Integrations across the Semrush ecosystem. | Vaarta |
